A Hempfield man charged in two separate cases accusing him of raping and strangling a woman on Monday pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of simple assault and was immediately paroled.
The Tribune-Review reports 36-year-old Harold Franks was ordered to serve 251 days in jail but was released on time served. He still faces rape charges in connection with another incident in October of 2017.
