The Hempfield School District gave preliminary approval for its budget for the 2019-2020 school year.
The Tribune-Review reports that the budget would top out at more than $98.1 million in expenses, but will not increase property taxes. To help counter the need for a tax increase, the budget eliminates six positions: Five paraprofessionals and one building aid.
The budget will be put out for display and is expected to be approved on June 17th.
