A Harrisburg law firm has been retained by Westmoreland County to investigate a complaint against Westmoreland County Commissioner Gina Cerilli.
The Tribune-Review reports that the investigation will center on a harassment complaint that was filed by county jail warden John Walton. Last month, Walton accused Cerilli of misrepresenting facts connected with a state grand jury investigation into human trafficking that involved jail guard Henry Caruso.
Walton said that Cerilli used false claims as political retaliation in a bid to have him fired. He demanded a public apology, which Cerilli has not provided yet. She said she would welcome the investigation, along with any investigation into wrongdoings at the county jail.
