
The Belle Vernon School District is saying they will continue to fight the parents’ complaint concerning eight students who were originally suspended for underage drinking.
KDKA-TV reports that a judge had overruled the 45-day suspensions against the eight students who were caught underage drinking at the Relay for Life event in Charleroi earlier this month. The suspensions would have meant that the students wouldn’t have been able to take part in prom or graduation. The parents say they are not challenging the punishments, but the severity of the punishment, as they say it’s been inconsistent with other punishments.
