A McKeesport woman was ordered to serve up to 23 months in jail for escaping police custody following an arrest last year on charges of robbery and theft from a Hempfield hospital.
The Trib reports that 33-year-old Kristy Zalac had slipped out of her handcuffs while waiting to be processed at the state police station in Greensburg, stole a pickup truck and fled the scene. She was found about an hour later in Murrysville.
Along with the guilty plea to those charges, she also pleaded guilty to robbery, retail theft and receiving stolen property for an incident on December 10th at a Home Depot in Hempfield.
