Franklin-Regional School District approved advertising the preliminary budget for next school year at last night’s meeting.
The Trib reports that the $66.4 million budget contains a $412,000 deficit. The budget also contains a proposed two-mill increase in property taxes, which is expected to bring in an extra $670,000. There have been increases in energy costs, health care premiums and special education among other areas.
The final budget will be approved next month.
