A North Huntingdon man was sentenced to prison time for an assault he claims he did not commit.
The Trib reports that 60-year-old Tracy Painter was sentenced on Monday after he was convicted in absentia following a non-jury trial last month on charges of simple assault and summary harassment. The charges were connected with an attack against John Vargo on Dec. 22, 2020 outside of Brandy’s on Main in downtown Irwin.
Painter, who has been in jail since he was arrested on a bench warrant two days after his trial was completed last month, denied the allegations made by Vargo.
