Police in New Kensington have accused a Pittsburgh man of reaching for a loaded gun when he was pulled over for a traffic stop and trying to flee when officers arrested him, while the New Kensington woman driving the car was charged with aiding him and having cocaine in the vehicle.
The Trib reports that police were doing traffic enforcement near Seventh Street near Constitution Boulevard around 3 PM on June 14th when they pulled over Casey Wright’s vehicle. Police noticed a baggie of suspected cocaine and the smell of marijuana. Police then saw Aaron Camp stuff his hand in between the seat and the center console and tried to flee when officers tried to arrest him. Police found a gun in the car when it was searched.
Police accused Wright — who was at the scene in handcuffs — with fleeing while officers were trying to take Camp into custody. Officers searched the area for nearly an hour before they found her near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and 11th Street, still wearing the handcuffs.
