A Verona man will remain in jail as he awaits trial in Westmoreland County Court for charges of criminal homicide.
The Trib reports that on Friday, Judge Timothy Krieger denied a bail request for Antoine Thurston II, who is accused of stabbing 62-year-old William Osselburn of Jeannette following an altercation last September 26th. Thurston’s attorney, Ryan Tutera, argued that withholding bond isn’t warranted in the case because he said prosecutors have failed to provide sufficient evidence that could support a first-degree murder charge against his client.
Judge Krieger said the nature of the wounds led him to believe there could be a danger to the community if Thurston were to be released.
