Deliberations are underway in the Tree of Life Synagogue shooting trial. KDKA-TV reports that closing arguments wrapped up yesterday. Prosecutors claimed Robert Bowers methodically shot as many people as he could because of his hatred of Jews, while the defense did not dispute the attack, but said that he did so out of hatred for immigrants and a hatred for the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society.
The jury will decide if he is eligible for the death penalty. If he is, there will be more testimony. If he is not, he will be sentenced to life in prison.
