More than 70 community projects in Westmoreland County will be funded by gambling revenue.
Close to $21 million in funding will go to several local groups and municipal governments. Live! Casino GM Sean Sullivan said that 38 communities in the county received grants from the Local Share account, which is funded by taxes from the casino.
In all 77 projects were funded with the grant money. The projects covered a wide variety of community needs including road resurfacing, playground and park improvements. One municipality is able to buy 3 new police cruisers with a grant.
