A Lower Burrell man has denied that he had sexual contact with a pre-teen girl during his trial on Wednesday.
The Trib reports that Edgar Lee Williams is charged with sexually assaulting a girl three years ago. Prosecutors contend Williams had repeated contact with the child, who he lured into a room and had sexual contact.
Williams described his accuser as a lonely young girl whom he befriended. He testified that just days before the sexual assault was disclosed, Williams reported to the girl’s parents that he witnessed her being physically assaulted. He also denied allegations in a separate case that he possessed four guns police found in his home in 2021 as part of the sexual assault investigation.
Closing arguments are expected today.
