A motor in the boiler room malfunctioned and burned Friday afternoon at Frick Hospital in Mt. Pleasant Township, authorities said.
Smoke from the fire spread in the hospital and the second floor was evacuated, Mt. Pleasant fire Chief Paul Harenchar said.
Workers were returning inside by 4:15 p.m.
Firefighters were at the hospital within three minutes of getting the alarm at 3:13 p.m., Harenchar said.
