A State Trooper claims that she was passed over for a promotion in retaliation for her husband’s role as a whistleblower.
The Trib reports that Lauren Spallone of Unity claimed in a lawsuit filed in Westmoreland County Court that she was passed over for promotions eight times while less qualified troopers were promoted to higher ranks. Spallone says her career stalled because her husband, also a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper, served as a whistleblower when he reported allegations that a supervisor’s political beliefs involving former Governor Tom Wolf’s stay-at-home orders during the Covid-19 Pandemic impacted a criminal investigation.
Lauren Spallone is seeking a promotion and back pay.
