A portion of Route 981 will be closed today as crews perform some drainage work.
The Trib reports that the closure of 981 between Mt. Pleasant and Kecksburg Roads in Mt. Pleasant starts today at noon and will continue through October. A detour will be posted, using both Mt. Pleasant and Kecksburg Roads.
The first phase, at the southern end of the project, involves reconstructing Route 981 from Route 819 north to a point just south of the village of Calumet. It is expected to be completed by September 2024. The rest of the project will extend Route 981 improvements farther north to Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Unity and will include some new alignments and intersection modifications.
