Monday was the annual tax sale at the Westmoreland County Courthouse, and the sale saw a record $2.5 million spent.
The Trib reports that more than 2000 tax delinquent properties were scheduled to go up for sale, but only 402 hit the auction block after late payments and court challenges were factored in. The previous record came in 2020 when 135 properties sold for $1.7 million.
