Five homes in the borough of Laurel Mountain near Laughlintown were evacuated Wednesday morning as authorities investigated a gas leak.
The Trib reports that the call went out at 11 AM for a home off of Route 30. Westmoreland County 911 said five homes were evacuated. The leak was caused by a construction company hitting the gas line.
Ligonier Township Volunteer Fire Department Station #1 and the Ligonier Borough Hose company assisted at the scene, Derk said.
