Residents in North Huntingdon’s 6th Ward are being sought to fill a seat on the township commissioner’s board.
The Trib reports that Sixth Ward Commissioner Lyndsay Wengrzyn-Romano is resigning because she moved to Penn Township. Her term will expire in January of 2024.
The commissioners intend to nominate a candidate at the board’s workshop meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 12, said Commissioner Zachary Haigis. The board will have those who submit letters of interest to fill the vacancy, speak at the meeting about why they want to serve as a commissioner. The candidate receiving four votes would be able to take office at the board’s Oct. 18 meeting.
Anyone interested must have lived in the 6th ward for one continuous year and be a registered voter. For more information, contact Harry Faulk, township manager at 724-863-3806, ext. 203.
