Officials in New Kensington are moving this weekend’s Willie Thrower NFL anniversary events to Valley High School.
Mayor Tom Guzzo says the community day and cookout are now being held indoors due to the likelihood of rain on Saturday. The occasion marks 70 years since Thrower became the first Black quarterback to take a snap in the National Football League.
Planners say weather should not impact the Willie Thrower Homecoming Parade and Festival tonight.
