A Pittsburgh man is charged with aggravated assault, disarming a police officer and other crimes connected with a chase in Arnold.
The Trib reports that 35-year-old Tyrone Lee of Pittsburgh’s Manchester neighborhood was seen by police on December 1st running a stop sign in the 1800 block of Fifth Avenue in Arnold. When police tried to pull him over, he fled toward New Kensington and crashed into a retaining wall. Two men ran from the vehicle, but when police caught up with Lee, he started to strike the officer in the head and face, and tried to take the officer’s gun away from him. Police said he had heroin on him, and was wanted in Allegheny County.
Lee remains in Westmoreland County Jail as bail was denied due to a pending gun charge in Allegheny County. A preliminary hearing is set for December 14th.
