More details were released concerning the rescue of a man and his daughter from a burning home in Crabtree.
The Trib reports that Kandace Gettins and Marissa Perillo, employees at SCI Pine Grove in Indiana County, were on their way to work when they saw the fire at a home on the corner of 119 and Rizzo Road. Around the same time, resident Anthony Edward was headed to work when he noticed his friend’s house was on fire. He kicked in a side door but was pushed back by thick smoke and ran to grab a ladder.Meanwhile, Gettins had stopped in a neighboring parking lot, and the women joined forces with Edward. Perillo got on the phone with 911 and directed Gettins and Edward to the man and his daughter on a back roof.
The man and his daughter were not hurt, but a dog was lost in the fire. The cause is under investigation.
