Weather tops our newscast this time as high winds are expected to come through our area.
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for all of Westmoreland, Indiana and Fayette Counties until 7:00 tonight. Winds are expected out of the southeast at speeds of 30 to 40 miles an hour with gusts up to 60 miles an hour. Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
The National Weather Service says that people must use caution if they have to drive, and if the wind really picks up, remain in the lower levels of the home and avoid windows. They also advise people outside to watch for falling debris and tree limbs.
