A New Kensington police officer is nursing injuries suffered during a Saturday night arrest.
Officer Tyler Balla stopped an SUV being driven by suspect Anthony Swann after noticing that his vehicle had a brake light out and an expired registration. Swann refused to show ID and as the suspect was being patted down, a second individual approached the scene, parked her car and reportedly charged at the officer.
When Officer Balla tried to arrest the woman, Swann reportedly punched the officer and the two traded blows.
In the end, the officer suffered an injured leg, a facial contusion and an eye injury but was able to arrest both suspects.
