Water and sewer rates will increase in April for customers of the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County.
The Trib reports that on Wednesday, Authority board members voted unanimously to raise rates 9% as part of the $117 million budget. While costs have gone up, board chairman Randy Roadman said they wanted to keep any increases to single digits, keeping rates as low as possible.
Customers are expected to see water bills increase by about $3.56 a month for 3,000 gallons of water used, or nearly $43 during the 2024-25 fiscal year that starts in April.
