Arnold Council rejected offers from out-of-town buyers to purchase some abandoned property.
The Trib reports that the buyers were from Philadelphia and Los Angeles and they were looking to buy abandoned properties on Third and Fifth Avenues. Council members balked at the offers in large part because of similar offers made in the past from people living out of the area or out of state. Those bidders never followed through with developing the vacant properties they purchased.
Council members were also wary of the out-of-town owners not following through with plans to maintain the property.
