A sinkhole along the Eastbound lanes of Route 30 in Unity is slated to be fixed through efforts of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy.
The Trib reports that the sinkhole is about 15 feet from the southern edge of the highway, near the intersection of Fred Rogers Drive. The sinkhole resulted from a collapsed connector between two underground culverts, west of the Route 217 intersection at Kingston. The Conservancy was awarded a $300,000 state grant to make repairs.
