State police on Wednesday filed charges against the man who was wounded in an incident with police over the weekend. The Trib reports that 61-year-old James Miller, Jr. was charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied structure and two counts of reckless endangerment for the incident Sunday night. When police investigated some shots fired in the area of Route 819, he approached them with an assault-style rifle. After refusing to put it down, he allegedly fired a shot at the troopers, who returned fire and hit him in the torso. He is recovering at AHN Forbes hospital in Monroeville.
