Restoration work by a local nonprofit has given a new lease on life on the former G.C. Murphy’s building in downtown Latrobe. The Trib reports that the building has been vacant since Dollar General moved out in 2019. The building was purchased by the Latrobe Community Revitalization Program in 2023 and has spent the last few months making improvements with the intent of attracting a new first-floor tennant. Jared Trunzo with the Latrobe Community Revitalization Program said they are keeping all options open for the building, including attracting a tenant or finding an investor who would be a good fit for the community.
