A member of the Ligonier Valley Police Department will provide security for an upcoming meeting being held by FirstEnergy. The Trib reports that the Ligonier Valley Police Commission approved sending the officer to the meeting on Wednesday in Ligonier Township. FirstEnergy plans to present information and accept input about four routes it is considering for a power line from Derry to Ligonier from 6 to 8 p.m. in the R.K. Mellon Elementary School gym. Information about the power line proposal can be viewed online by visiting firstenergycorp.com, selecting “Transmission Projects” under the “About Us” heading and searching under “Pennsylvania” for the Bethlen-Ethel Springs project.
