HOBBY LOBBY TO MOVE INTO MONROEVILLE CONVENTION CENTER

The Monroeville Convention Center will be no more later this year.  WTAE-TV reports that the Convention Center and its owners, Oxford Development, will enter into a 12 year lease with Hobby Lobby effective June 1^st.  Half the building will be used for the retail craft store, while the other will be put up for further leasing opportunities.  That has left events like Steel City Con and the Pittsburgh Gaming Expo in limbo.  Steel City Con’s event in April is still on, but they and others are looking at other venues to hold the events.
