As schools across the state continue to struggle with teacher shortages, some Western Pennsylvania districts are launching initiatives to attract more educators. It’s called the Aspiring Educators program and it’s designed to introduce high school students to a career in education. In Westmoreland County, the program is held in a classroom at Mount Pleasant Area High School. The Central Westmoreland Career and Technology Center is the host and is one of four CTCs in Pennsylvania approved to operate the program.
