A woman from Arnold arrested on suspicion of assault was tased multiple times after police said she fought with officers inside a New Kensington holding cell on Saturday. The Trib reports that 29-year-old Alexis Owens was charged in connection with an incident in the 400 block of 16th Street, with the victim claiming Owens assaulted her as she lay in bed. At the New Kensington lockup, police said that Owens put herself between the cell door and wall, preventing the door from locking. She fought with multiple officers, who took her to the ground to try to drag her into her cell and then used a taser on her several times, the complaint said. She is in Westmoreland County Jail on $15,000 bail, with a preliminary hearing set for February 22nd.
