Jeannette officials have approved the first phase of a project to build a new fire station. The Trib reports that the first phase, which will allow the structure to be built, and heat and electricity and heat to be installed, will use a $1.2 million grant that the city received in 2022. After that, the goal would be to get private donations or public funds to build the rest of the project out. Additional phases will be added depending on the financial situation.
