AUTO DEALERSHIP LEADER DIES AT 62

A man known for running successful auto dealerships in Westmoreland County has died unexpectedly at the age of 62. Loved ones say Mark Smail, with Smail Auto Group, passed away Saturday after becoming unresponsive while riding home from a trip to Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Dan DeBone with the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce calls Smail a friend and a “tremendous entrepreneur,” noting that he led his business through the down time of the COVID-19 pandemic without laying off his over 500 employees.
