Ridership continues to increase for the Westmoreland County Transit Authority. The Trib reports that the bus service did see a six percent increase in January, continuing an upward trend in the number of people riding the bus. Authority executive director Alan Blahovec said that while they are still far from where they were pre-covid, the numbers are encouraging. The increases come as the authority prepares to revamp its service. A project to re-evaluate the authority’s routes and service structure is expected to completed in the coming weeks. Blahovec said the study, financed by PennDOT, will be soon be unveiled and will recommend potential new and revised bus service.
