Officials in Delmont are considering their options for the area previously occupied by the police department. The Trib reports that they want to use federal grant money from the American Rescue Plan’s Multi-Purpose Community Facilities Program to turn the space from a former police station into a public community area and to make some much-needed updates to the building’s handicapped access. Council opted to discuss the idea more at its March meeting before taking a vote on whether to apply for the grant. Applications are due in April, and will be announced in July and August, according to the DCED.
