UPS has plans to lay off all of the daytime shift package sorting workers at their New Stanton shipping hub. The company made the announcement yesterday, saying an unspecified number of positions would be eliminated by mid-April. Officials with Teamsters Local 30 out of Jeannette, the union that represent roughly one-thousand workers at the facility, are planning to meet to discuss the job cuts today. About three weeks ago, UPS corporate leaders announced a total of about half-a-million layoffs across their global operation.
