Derry Borough Officials are looking at upgrades to the community swimming pool. The Trib reports that the borough is planning to add a second pavillion at the pool on East Third Street rec facility and replace a water slide that was removed a few years ago. Borough engineering consultant Gibson-Thomas is preparing specifications for the new pavilion so Derry Council can seek bids for its construction. The new pavilion ideally would provide close to 300 square feet of space for rentals, augmenting a much smaller one. The cost of the pavilion would be covered by money remaining from $50,000 in state funding for pool improvements the borough received last year and must spend before 2025 arrives. For the slide, Derry is applying to T-Mobile for a competitive grant of up to $100,000 to install it.
