A portion of a road in Ligonier Township that has been closed for about five years will remain closed a few more months. The Trib reports that township supervisors voted this week to extend the closure of Meyers School Road until the late summer, when the road will be tarred and chipped. A portion of the road had been closed so Coal Loaders can reclaim an old mining site and remaining coal from it can be extracted. While there were plans to reopen it in the spring, they want to wait for the tar and chips to make the road safer.
