A Penn Township nurse practitioner is accused of illegally prescribing oxycodone. The Trib reports that 55-year-old Joseph Sapp is charged with writing thousands of fake prescriptions for people that did exist and identities that he made up, then going with another person to pick up the prescriptions at various pharmacies. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Friday and is free on $250,000 unsecured bail. Sapp is charged with acquisition by misrepresentation, forgery, criminal use of a communication facility and related offenses.
