The criminal case of a Mt. Pleasant man charged with trying to kill his mother will continue even though she has said she no longer wants to see her son jailed for the alleged attack. The trib reports that Judge Scott Mears allowed Kort Eckman was allowed to give his mom Rose a hug in court. He was ordered to remain held in Westmoreland County Jail with no bail for the attack last October at their home. Court records say that he stabbed her 20 times believing she was a Nazi war criminal. While Rose said she does not want to see her son in prison, Assistant DA Anthony Iannamorelli said that they plan on moving forward with prosecution.
