Criminal charges were filed on Monday against a state trooper currently suspended in connection with a domestic violence allegation. The Trib reports that troopers in the internal affairs division have charged 31-year-old Nicholas Hood with misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment. A criminal complaint filed Monday indicated that an argument between Hood and a woman at a Derry Township home Aug. 26 turned physical. Hood is accused of grabbing the woman by her neck, throwing her to the ground and putting his hand over her mouth while she was screaming, according to court papers. Hood is free on his own recognizance, but is due back in court April 2nd for a preliminary hearing.
