The Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness has scheduled a public hearing to take a one-year look back at recovery efforts following that huge train derailment. It happened just across the state border in East Palestine, Ohio last February. The National Transportation Safety Board said last spring in its preliminary report that the derailment was likely caused by an overheating bearing on one of the railcars. The Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee has scheduled the hearing on the response for March 27th in Darlington, Pennsylvania.
