SOUTHWESTERN PA UNDER FLOOD WATCH TONIGHT

Southwestern PA is under a Flood Watch through tonight.  The National Weather Service has put the flood watch in effect for Westmoreland County and several surrounding counties until 8:00 tonight.  Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day. Each will have the potential to produce heavy rain, with a cumulative effect evolving to create increasing potential for excessive runoff with each successive round. Total rainfall estimates through the evening will likely reach 2 to 3 inches across the Watch area, with locally higher amounts up to 4 inches possible.  We’ll have a check on your AccuWeather forecast in a few minutes.
