Registration is open for an event honoring the memory of a fallen Westmoreland County state trooper. The 14th annual Trooper Iwaniec Memorial Race is planned for April 20th at Saint Vincent College. Trooper Kenton Iwaniec was killed in 2008 when he was hit by a drunk driver while on his way home from his shift. Proceeds from the marathon have purchased nearly three-thousand portable breath test devices for law enforcement agencies across Pennsylvania.
