BOVARD MAN TESTIFIES IN HIS OWN DEFENSE

A Bovard man testified in his own defense in court on Tuesday, denying allegations that he sexually assaulted a young girl on several occasions. The Trib reports that 60-year-old Jerry Boring is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault based on allegations brought by the 16-year-old victim. The girl disclosed the alleged sexual assaults while receiving care at an area behavioral health treatment center in 2022. Boring said that his accuser made up the incidents, and said the confession he allegedly made the day before his arrest was concocted. The jury is expected to start deliberations today.
