Two people from Monessen were arrested and charged with stealing a man’s credit cards while he was preaching at a church in Smithton. The Trib reports that 35-year-old Jarrell Carpenter and 40-year-old Erica Bloom are charged with stealing the cards and using them at two businesses in town. The cards belonged to a lay worship leader at the Hope Memorial Lutheran Church on Second Street in Smithton. The two suspects are awaiting appearances before District Judge John Christner.
