CLOSING STATEMENTS EXPECTED TODAY IN VEHICULAR HOMICIDE TRIAL

Closing statements are expected today in the trial of a Sewickley woman charged with vehicular homicide.  Defendant Ahna Malik was behind the wheel on March 7th of 2022 when she went left of center on a Hempfield Road and hit an oncoming vehicle leaving its driver with fatal injuries.  Malik later tested positive for drugs though she told officers she did not use drugs on the day of the accident.  Her attorney maintains that Malik’s vehicle was in such a state of disrepair that that is what caused the accident.
