NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CONFIRMS TORNADO TOUCH DOWN IN DERRY AND LIGONIER TOWNSHIP

The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado did touch down in Derry and Ligonier Townships.  The Trib reports that touchdown happened around 3:00 AM Wednesday.  The EF1 tornado that came to Ligonier Township had gusts of up to 100 miles an hour.   Trees were reported down along Austraw Road and McCurdy Trail, as well as on Berkley, blocking access and cutting power to homes, according to township officials.  No injuries were reported.
