Commissioners in Penn Township are deciding on a proposal this week that could offer tax breaks to more volunteer firefighters. Local officials are expected make a decision on a measure that would extend earned income tax credits and real estate tax discounts to residents who volunteer with the fire service in the neighboring Manor borough. The vote is on the agenda for the commissioners meeting on Wednesday evening. Leaders in Manor are also deciding on a similar measure for their citizens who serve in Penn Township.
